Year In Review: My Favorite Moments
A look back at some of my favorite moments during my time as the Arts Director for the Arkansas City Area Arts Council. We had such a fun-filled, exciting year with new innovative art classes, concerts with VIP access and giveaways, engaging day trips, elegant dinner parties, a children's theatre production, art exhibitions, a children's choir, innovative fundraisers, and a wonderful new intergenerational art program.
It was such a wonderful experience to plan and successfully execute so many different types of events for such a beautiful community.
Grant Writing & Grant Awards
I absolutely love to write grants. Here is a comprehensive list of every grant that I was awarded for the year. One of my greatest joys as Director, was receiving the news that a grant was awarded and that others saw the value within.
I learned that programs I developed as a gift to the community, ended up being an even greater gift of my own.
Fundraising & Event Planning
During my time as Director with Ark City Arts, we held three fundraisers for the arts: a murder mystery dinner theatre, a bluegrass concert, and our annual art auction.
During the 2017 year, our diligent fundraising efforts raised more than $52,000 for the arts. This figure does not include additional profits and income from class revenue, donations, corporate sponsorship, grants, cash tips, memberships, scholarships, ticket sales, art gallery sales, pledges, and more.
Each fundraiser was successful because of the support of our small but generous community, and the dedication and hard work of our board and volunteers.
PrairieFest Arts & Music Festival
Planning an arts and music festival is definitely one of the most difficult projects I've ever done, but it was also one of the most rewarding. I learned so much and we had such a great time. Here are some of my favorite moments from PrairieFest 2017.
I also designed a brand new PrairieFest website and marketing materials for the 54 year old festival. Two of my college interns assisted with a new logo design.
Additional Portfolio Work
I truly love the work that I do. Feel free to check out these additional web, graphic design, marketing, digital newsletter, and social media work from my client portfolio.
